Brown’s Cleaning & Laundry traces the family business to 1933, when Grace Black bought a drycleaning operation. In 1935, Grace’s brother, Wayne Baxter took over the company that became Wayne Baxter Cleaners. In 1968, after working for the family business for 25 years, Wayne’s nephew, Joe B. Brown, purchased the company, renaming the company Brown’s Cleaning & Laundry. Joe’s son, Philip, joined the business in 1976 as the company began Restoration Services after the purchase of Alabama’s first deodorizing Ozone machine. Joe and Philip worked to expand the business’ services to include a Full Service Laundry, Wedding Gown Preservation, on-site Leather/Suede/Fur cleaning and Vault Storage. Brown’s further expanded in 1982 by purchasing Fort Payne Laundry & Cleaners. In 1992, Philip took over a company that continues to innovate and grow to better serve its customers.

Now as a FRSTeam Licensee, this new fabric restoration company, FRSTeam by Brown’s Cleaners, will be creating it’s own remarkable story as a separate operation from the retail dry cleaning business. “This will give us the strength of a national company, the technological and systematic advantages that come with the size and experience of FRSTeam”, said Philip Brown, President of Brown’s Cleaning & Laundry. “FRSTeam by Brown’s Cleaners is perfect for FRSTeam, with their commitment to technology and customer care”, said Courtney Nicholas, CEO of FRSTeam. Added Jim Nicholas, President of FRSTeam, “FRSTeam by Brown’s Cleaners is a family business, established in their community for generations, practicing the same values and integrity we embrace here at FRSTeam”. After completing training in the California Corporate Office, Philip Brown returned to Fort Payne to get the FRSTeam operation started. “Philip’s drive and experience will bring success in this business,” continued Courtney.
